Jupiter Project, Future Concept of National Aviation (Part 1)

The “Maritime Silk Road” policy supported by the “Sea Toll” program (Pendulum Nusantara) is currently being undertaken simultaneously by the government to link ASEAN and inter-island in Indonesia, to realize the development of an equitable Indonesian economy.

But the Sea Toll will not be efficient and sustainable if only partially formulated. The design of national transportation should pay attention to many aspects such as economic scale, price disparity, regional potential, industrial development direction, as well as geographical conditions of each region, so ideally should be developed with dual technologies such as, maritime technology and aerospace technology.

Indonesia’s geographical condition consists of thousands of islands, but aviation potentials using the current “Amphibian/Sea Plane” have not been seriously developed, although the sector is quite promising.

The ability of flexible amphibian aircraft to land on land and at sea is the uniqeness of its own that can be used to explore the potential of Indonesia’s natural and marine beauty, as well as to support the National Tourism sector.

The “10 New Bali” program that is being echoed by the government in this case Kemenpar namely, Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Belitung (Babel), Tanjung Lesung (Banten), Thousand Islands (DKI Jakarta), Borobudur (Jateng), Mount Bromo ( Jatim), Mandalika Lombok (NTB), Komodo Island (NTT), Wakatobi National Park (Southeast Sulawesi), and Morotai (North Maluku).

But in the future it is expected that the government can further expand and increase the potential points of tourism towards “30 New Bali”. For example, in the “10 New Bali” program, the government has not included Bunaken, Manado and Raja Ampat, Sorong which actually have great potential to bring in foreign tourists.

If this program can be realized it is expected to be able to boost the regional economy as well as to grow the national aviation business. (*)

Jupiter Project, Konsep Masa Depan Aviasi Nasional

(Galih Rudyto)
